ICT Systems and Project Management
The starting point is to have an ICT strategy that will serve the strategic objectives of the company. This will ensure that systems are acquired or developed in a co-ordinated manner, not piecemeal as is often the case.
When specifying computer systems we ensure that the core requirements of the client are fully stated. We produce a specification of requirements and invitation to tender, advise on the selection of suppliers and systems, draft contracts and project manage or oversee the implementation. The extent of our involvement depends on the resources available within the client.
Our business consultants also investigate problems with existing systems. It is not always the systems themselves that are to blame. They may not have been properly implemented, or staff not fully trained. Procedures around the computer system may not be appropriate. Reports and other outputs may be inaccurate or inappropriate. Relationships with suppliers may have broken down. We assess and make practical recommendations for overcoming the problems.
